Serien brukar kallas Sigma då detta grekiska summeringstecken står på rygg och framsida. Den finns även på svenska i 5 delar, men jag har den engelska som är i fyra delar. Del 1 som jag nu har läst har 724 sidor. Jag fick tag i hela serien på ett antikvariat i Stockholm för ca 11 år sen, men har inte börjat läsa förrän för några månader sen. Har haft den som bredvidläsningsbok. Den är från 1950-talet och på riktigt fin (learned) brittisk engelska. Inte förstått allt, men en hel del. Det är kul att läsa originaltexter som omväxling till andrahandsuppgifter i läroböcker. Här är ju många kända/stora namn. Den lär mig inte direkt nått jag kan klara tentor av, men ger mig bakgrund och helhetsbild på ämnet matematik. Bl.a. för att sen kanske lättare lära mig använda det, men även som idehistoria. Tror jag ska läsa de andra delarna också, men vet inte när.
